The campus is increasingly assailed by computing security problems. Compromises of personal information, both at Berkeley and elsewhere, have raised awareness of the broadening scope of security incidents; you might wind up having to answer questions from the New York Times about why your department was broken into.

L&S and the campus have adopted numerous policies to attempt to mitigate the problem.
