Updated: New Fellowship and Scholarship Funds Honors Corinne Crawford

To honor the memory of graduate student Corinne S. Crawford (1980-2007), the Department has estalished an endowment fund to assist the research of Classics graduate students, especially those in areas that were especially important to her. A second fund, to establish an undergraduate scholarship, has also been created.

Hearst Egyptian Papyri Finally Arrive in Berkeley

The Center for the Tebtunis Papyri and The Bancroft Library celebrated the arrival of important Egyptian Middle Kingdom papyri. Excavated for UC over 100 years ago, the pieces were hidden in Germany during World War II and spent 40 years in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
