I am Dr. Josephine Moreno, the graduate diversity coordinator for the Arts & Humanities in the College of Letters & Science at the University of California, Berkeley. I work with prospective and continuing diversity graduate students. Prospective diversity students and I often discuss graduate school preparation, admission criteria, the admission process, and university and external funding. Continuing students are typically concerned about funding, academic issues, completing their degrees, and personal matters.

Prospective graduate students may be interested in STEP by Step, an advising tool for arts & humanities and social sciences students. Although it was developed for Berkeley students, it includes valuable information for all students interested in graduate studies at Berkeley and students who desire to enrich their undergraduate experience.

A native Californian, Josephine Moreno received her Ph.D. from Iowa State University in 1995. Prior to her current position as Graduate Diversity Coordinator in the Arts & Humanities at UC Berkeley, she was a faculty member at the University of Rhode Island in textiles where she taught undergraduate and graduate courses and conducted research on the cultural analysis of dress and textiles.
